FAQ’s

1. WHEN SHOULD WE START CE MARKING OUR ROLLER SHUTTERS?

Under the Machinery Directive it has been a mandatory requirement to CE Mark all electrically operated roller shutters (EORS's) since the 1st January 1995. A period of grace was put in place for all existing designs until the 1st January 1997.

That means it has been mandatory to CE Mark roller shutters for over 7 years now.

    • It is illegal to SUPPLY EORS's that are not CE Marked

    • It is illegal to ACCEPT EORS's that are not CE Marked

2. MY RUBBER SAFETY EDGE HAS STOPPED WORKING!

If your safety edge has previously been working, check the following:

The top and bottom magnets on the guide are at the correct position (see installation manual).

When the door passes the magnets the distance between them and the safety edge transmitter is no more than 10mm.

The magnets have not been removed and put back on the guides in a different position.
